Frequently Asked Questions

  • CAN MY DOG EAT RAW BONES?

Yes, of course they can! A dog's whole physiology is geared up to eat raw meat and bones. Yes, even chicken bones! NEVER cooked though!

  • HOW MUCH RAW FOOD SHOULD MY DOG EAT EACH DAY?

The guide to follow is 2.5% of the dog's adult weight, for maintenance. So for example, a 20kg dog would eat 500g of raw food per day. However every dog is different and some dogs may need more or less. Simply take notice of your dog's weight and adjust the amount of food accordingly.

  • WHAT IS 'COMPLETE' FOOD?

Dogs need, as a guide, 80% muscle meat, 10% bone and !0% offal, of which 5% should be liver. We sell food which has exactly these amounts in so you don't have to count! Some people like to feed their dogs vegetables, fruit, seeds etc. too and this can be beneficial. We sell supplementary additions but we also sell completes which have veg etc. in them.

  • CAN I FEED MY DOG BONES ONE DAY AND FOOD WITH NO BONES THE NEXT?

Yes! Not every meal needs to be perfectly balanced, it can balance out over time.

  • MY DOG WILL NOT EAT PORK OR LAMB. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I SHOULD TRY?

Absolutely! There are so many proteins you can feed your dog now: ostrich, beef, pheasant, fish, duck, game, chicken, goat, rabbit, venison... the list goes on!
